I see eyes in the well and scratches on skin. I see fingers outstretched don't know where to dig in. I see fear in the face of a mother who is missing her kid. I see bodies in the grass with blood at their feet. I see bone sticking out just beneath the knee. I see terrible pain in the ones who are forced to leave. I see teeth on the pavement where petals once fell. I see stillness in places that once raged like hell. I see shadows grow longer on faces who will never tell. I see coffins filled up with nothing but time. I see holes in the ground too deep to be climbed. I see priests on their knees forever confessing their crimes. I see church pew pillars with salty flesh. I see them praising "god" in their Sunday best. I see kids being taught to fake faith if it gets them blessed. I see shadows on the wall that dance and pretend. I see darkness in corners and it welcomes me in. I see two roads ahead and I don't know where to begin. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound when a missile from a drone impacts the ground. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound when eternal peace can finally be found.
